The Race for Great Skin ….

The Doctor is in … Slow and steady wins the race for great skin!

Every year the “theme” of the holiday season at my office is the same: panic! Come December, patients are suddenly impatient to get party-perfect and picture-perfect skin. In an effort to look fantastic for the holidays, many jump from salon treatment to salon treatment. But often their efforts backfire and soon their skin is inflamed from too much aggressive attention, a condition dermatologists call “Tandem Irritation,” and they end up in my practice searching for solutions to calm their skin.
If you find yourself treading similar waters, the key is to take a step back and restore your skin’s barrier. Incorporate skin-soothing products that contain clinically proven ingredients to fortify skin’s natural moisture barrier, calm visible redness and reduce irritation.
While it’s tempting to consider jumping for holiday specials, when it comes to skincare, remember—slow and steady wins the race. Real results come from consistent, daily application of clinically proven products. So limit the aggressive holiday skin treatments and stay on track with skincare tailored to your special needs.

Habits that Haunt: Sleeping with Your Makeup on

Habits that Haunt: Sleeping with Your Makeup on

Aside from ruining your linens, sleeping with your makeup on means that you skipped your nightly skincare routine and missed out on your skin’s best rejuvenation hours. Skin is most receptive at night, which means your skincare products work harder for you while you sleep. Take it from us, consistency is the key to achieving healthy-looking skin. Do your best this holiday season to stick to your nightly skincare routine … your great skin will be the best gift you give yourself.
