Suffering with Dry Scalp?

Myth Busters

MYTH: Shampooing less often will minimize dandruff

Dandruff is caused by flaking skin on your scalp. While it is counter-intuitive, the more you shampoo the better when it comes to combating this flaky skin. The natural oils your scalp produces will not combat the underlying cause of dandruff as effectively as the medicines in dandruff shampoo. If you struggle with dandruff, we recommend you look for a shampoo with tar, pyrithione zinc, salicylic acid, selenium sulfide, sulfur or ketoconazole—all ingredients approved by the FDA to fight dandruff.
